Students' Scientific Association Caloria


	The History of the "Caloria" Our Association was established in 1961 at the Institute of Metallurgy, Department of Heat Economy. It was registered on 15 November 1983. Until today, the Association's supervisors were the following: 1961 - 1969 T. Filar, R. Woźniacki 1970 - 1971 B. Kołczakowski 1972 - 1978 Z. Woźniacki/ A. Ciężak 1979 - 1981 Z. Woźniacki/ K. Karczewski 1982 - 1988 Z. Woźniacki 1988 - 1989 dr inż. Z. Woźniacki / dr inż. L. Kurcz since 1989: L. Kurcz Presently, the Association is located at the Department of Heat Engineering and Environmental Protection, headed by Professor Stanisław Słupek. IMPORTANT DATES AND EVENTS Since 1988, we have been regularly taking part in the Students' Scientific Sessions (we were frequent winners of the competitions for the best session paper) We took part in many conferences in Poland and abroad We were the organisers of conferences, seminars and scientific camps, as well as cultural and sport events Each year, we celebrate the commencement of the academic year, and organise Christmas Eve and Easter parties Selected Dates: 1961 - foundation of the Association 1983 - registration of Students' Scientific Association 1993 - naming the Association "Caloria" 1993 - an agreement of collaboration signed with the Students' Scientific Association of the Warsaw Polytechnic 1993 - 2000 - promoting our Faculty at the AGH Open Door Days 1994 - co-organising the 75th Anniversary of AGH 1994 - constitute "The Honourable President" of Association 1997 - our initiative to establish the Laboratory of Heat Engineering at the Department of Heat Engineering and Environmental Protection 1998 - establishing "The Lambda" Association 2000 - 2001 - our initiative to organise the First Skiing Competition, Dean's Cup 2000-2001 - the works of our members published by the ZN AGH 2000 - "Best MA Thesis" granted to our member (citation) 2000 - the Association's first web site 2001 - I Scientific Conference "Energy-Ecology-Ethics"
